CSA A277 applies to factory-built homes and buildings intended for permanent installation on foundations. It is commonly used for custom homes, modular homes, multi-family buildings, commercial projects, schools, healthcare facilities, and other permanent structures. The building must also comply with the applicable provincial building code.
CSA Z240, often referred to as the Manufactured Home Standard, is intended primarily for manufactured housing. These homes are built to a national standard and are commonly found in manufactured home communities or on private property where this certification is accepted.
